Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American performer, actress and songwriter for several years. She was raised by her mother, and her father, in USA. Her childhood was filled with racist insults, she was being made to feel unwelcome. As she entered the 9th grade she started to feel more comfortable after she was acknowledged by her teachers as a success when she sang at the school's audition. It not only boosted her confidence but altered the direction she pursued in her professional career. When she was 22, she graduated at the Julliard School of New York. In 1993, she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. The most notable achievement of her career was with her portrayal of The Lady Of The Lake on Spamalot's initial Broadway production. She did not only receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by critics. In the following year, she was cast as the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. Apart from being an acclaimed singer she released a solo and an extended piece. She is an activist who works tirelessly to promote LGBT equality.
